About Day of The Dead, Día de los Muertos Sugar Skulls.

Day of The Dead is a holiday celebrated in central and southern Mexico on November 1st and 2nd. It is a day of honoring their deceased loved ones.

The belief is that the Gates of heaven open on October 31st at midnight, allowing deceased children to come down to be reunited with their loved ones on November 1st.

November 2nd is when deceased adults are allowed to reunite with loved ones and take part in the feast and festivities prepared for them.

In the afternoon of November 2nd the festivities head for the cemetery where their loved ones tombs are cleaned, games are played and the village plays music. People enjoy to reminisce about their loved ones, they relay stories to their children and generally keep their memories alive.
